Home & School Board for the 2024-25 academic year is as follows:

President, Kerri Roberts

Kerri RobertsKerri has served on the HSA board for 2 years, first as a Parent-At-Large and then as Secretary. Her daughter is currently an 11th grade student at STEM.  In addition, Kerri has volunteered for (9th grade), then chaired (10th grade) STEM's Annual Fore The Kids Golf Outing.  Kerri brings extensive business and project management experience to the board. She began her career managing large-scale projects for an international corporation and now manages her small, local business. She is looking forward to serving the STEM Academy community as President of the HSA this year.

Co-Vice President, Mary Gasser

With three children, including a current senior at STEM and two past graduates of STEM, Mary has been deeply involved in supporting our schools. Currently serving her 8th year on the Home and School board in various roles, Mary is honored to be the co-Vice President this year. This marks her 18th year of service on Home and School boards within DASD. Known for her creativity and project management experience, Mary has enjoyed coordinating Student Life, faculty appreciation, and Post-Prom events at STEM, always seeking fresh and engaging ways to enhance the experience for students and staff. Supporting the students and community has been a truly rewarding experience for Mary.   

 

Co-Vice President, Heather Steiger

Heather is the parent of Sophomore and Senior STEM students. She joined the STEM Home & School Association first as a Parent-At-Large, then as Co-Vice President in her second term. This will be her third year volunteering with the STEM HSA. She brings business and marketing expertise to the board having spent the majority of her career managing and operating for-profit businesses including her own Marketing Agency which was acquired in 2020. With career aspirations on pause, she loves having more time to support the STEM Academy community.

 

Secretary, Marcie Epstein

Marcie is the parent of a Sophomore STEM student. This is Marcie’s second term year on the STEM Home & School Association Board. Last year she served as an at-large board member, volunteering for various activities including co-chairing the food committee for Post Prom. Additionally, she volunteers to support the West Marching Band and West Indoor Percussion Ensemble, both of which her son is a member.

In her spare time, she loves to travel with her family stateside and internationally. She’s excited to contribute to supporting this incredible school community.  If you see her around STEM, Marcie says “please say hi”!

Treasurer, Kousalya Alapati

Kousalya is joining us for her first year on the STEM HSA Board as Treasurer. Kousalya is the parent of a Sophomore here at STEM. She has been a dedicated participant in our community, attending all HSA meetings and volunteering on the post-prom committee last year. With her background in technology, management, and budgeting, she brings valuable skills to the board.

Kousalya is eager to serve and support our school’s initiatives. Outside of STEM, she volunteers for a non-profit to raise funds for underprivileged children. A fun fact about her, she has a black belt in Taekwondo and enjoys training with her son. She loves to stay active and is committed to personal growth.

In this role, she looks forward to working with the board members, staff, and community to support our schools’ financial health, ensure transparency, and make informed decisions that benefit our students and teachers. She firmly believes together, we can create a sustainable financial future for our district that enables every student to thrive.
